If you haven’t already, be sure take a fully day to truly reflect over the last year and revel in all your growth from the past year.
Often I see clients who “finish” vs “complete” their year, rushing off to the next accomplishment. This is a big missed opportunity my clients often miss.
Consider that without a deep dive to reflect, you can subconsciously run the same pattern into the new year getting the same incremental results, rather than truly building and creating unexpected results you couldn’t even imagine.
1. 2025 Reflection Questions
Here are questions I have students in workshops and clients reflect on:
- What are you grateful for?
- What were highlights or milestones of the year both personally and professionally?
- What lessons did you learn?
- What new habits did you develop?
- What books did you read?
- What did you and your family accomplish?
- What unexpected things did you accomplish, that were unintended?
- What character traits did you develop this year?
- If you had a theme word from last year, in what ways did that get fulfilled?
Respond to the questions that resonate most for you than try to respond to them all (unless you’re moved to!).
Then set a timer for 30-60 minutes, play some music that helps you focus, then tune in.
The intention of the exercise is to acknowledge all that You have accomplished.
You’ll get a sense of closure of any missed goals noting lessons learned to then create a new space moving into 2026.
2. 2026 Creation Questions
Once you’ve completed the yin cycle of reflecting the past, you’re now ready to go into yang cycle and create the future.
Here’s a list of powerful, looking forward questions to reflect on as an inquiry:
- Reviewing your reflection questions, what is wanting to emerge from within?
- What’s an empowering question worth inquiring to for the year to discover ongoingly? Ie. What do I really want? What brings me joy? Who am I?
- What do you want to manifest next year?
- What could be the possible theme of next year? For example, Mine this year is “Simple and Easy”. Last year was “Equanimity.” Year before that was “Compassion.”
- Who do you want to become?
3. Share!
Then email me your theme word or response to any 1 or 2 questions above!
If you rush off to the next year without first reflecting on the prior year, you risk creating on top of what’s incomplete, which can undermine you subconsciously not believing in the new goals you set.
Instead, carve out a personal retreat day or half day to reflect on first. Then follow these 3 steps before you set next year’s goals.
If you don’t feel you will actually set aside the time for a personal retreat, you can access the “Winter Solstice Integration and Reflection for 2025 through 365 Bows.”
